Supervision of instruction is being pushed to the back of the agenda for school based and central office leaders as a result of the drive to increase accountability in local, state, and national policy. New evaluation measures of teachers and leaders are time consuming, cumbersome, and provide little room for formative feedback of a supervisory nature.
COPIS seeks proposals related to the theme, Ethical Principles of Supervisory Practice: How Does Supervision Support Teachers and Learners in a Hostile Policy Environment?” We are also open to proposals that aren't directly linked to the conference theme as long as they are supervision-related. Please include the following information in your proposal.
Doctoral students will have the opportunity to share a research idea with a COPIS faculty mentor(s) during the conference to receive
feedback and support to help strengthen that doctoral student’s research agenda. This is a time to network and build relationship with COPIS members as they support our next generation in developing as scholars. This will occur during the first day of the conference. See the full information sheet
